I think you made one of the chief poinst of this hand in your aside:
"How did he (the button) like the SB's re-raise? Of course, I have been
saying that since my first response and no one seems to see my posts. I
don't think Brew mentioned it in HIS original post.
well, thats certainly the main point of this entire thread. Maybe it
was designed that way so brew can say "look how well I read people"
The other chief point is that he has an "M" that is big enough to pass
up an opportunity.
if you keep folding spots which are laden in EV, you wont have a large
"M" for very long. I think people focus too much on the "better
situations" they hope will arise.. but they dont come as often as
people think, quite often they dont come at all
The guy that did the math is I think a bit tight in his raising
requirements for the button in my opine. If the guy is a aggro, his
range is quite a bit wider. Especially with Mr Brewmuthian laydowns on
the BB, he is going to be correct raising with close to any 2 cards.
Whether he is doing that is the debating point, but I wouldn't be
surprised.
If it was our very own Mattros on the button, I rather believe he would
raise if the cards were blank =)
