Bush and Rumsfield are on the side of Western Civilization.

That's why we're losing.

Those who can follow a reduction to absurdity argument know

If that mistake was necessary for our invasion of Iraq, and
if we win the Battle for Iraq, then we're fortunate Bush
made the mistake.

A false crisis was manufactured to get us into the war when we did,
whether one believed that there were WMD programs or not.

You could possibly benefit from reading a web site I have already
posted once.

How do you tell when you have won this "Battle"? In my opinion, the only
way to win is to leave. There will be no peace while we are there.

But will there be "peace" if and when we leave?
If you really, really want "peace", that is the question you must ask
yourself.

If the purpose was to "save" Iraq and the Iraqis, then the war should
have been sold that way and that's what Congress should have voted on.
As it stands, this was is based on bull*** and cannot sustain continued
public support.

Now I know for sure that you really, really need to read the article I
refer to above.
It debunks most of the myths that you seem to base your opinion on.

If we lose the Battle for Iraq, then the tactic of
Islamofacism that will have beaten us is the suicide bomber.
If you have trouble following the implications of that, ask
a stupid child for help.

The reason we would "lose" is because there is not popular support in
America or Iraq for a long term occupation. At this point, I don't see a
better path than leaving and letting them sort it out.

So this "popular support" thing is what you base your opinion on?
Bear in mind that there is "popular support" in the USA to immediately
throw every illegal Mexican immigrant in the USA into a boxcar and
send them back to Mexico.

I am sure that you would not be in favor of that any more than I am.

We could have done some good by finishing what we started in Afghanistan
and finding Osama with support from much of the rest of the world. But
now we have two countries that we helped screw up and might not be able
to fix. We had an opportunity to rally the world against terrorism and
wasted it. Bush will not be looked on favorably in history.

And now you are going to tell me that if OBL was captured or killed,
the Islamofacists would simply give up and go home?

So now tell me.

Just exactly how should the USA have taken advantage of this
"opportunity to rally the world against terrorism"?

I am positively giddy in anticipation of learning exactly how you
think we might have accomplished this task.
