Re: how do you play against idiots?

I take the points of these incisive posts, I know I should have folded
but as I said, I thought the guy was at it because of his massive
stack. Anytime I triple or quadruple up in the first 20 minutes or so I
tighten right up and try first and foremost to make the money, it's far
too easy with a massive stack to screw up, I've done it on occasion,
and I've seen people do it so bad. I was playing in the casino once and
this guy, Malik I think his name was, he had so many chips that he
could hardly carry them when he moved to another table, then he threw
them all away in two or three hands and didn't even make the money.

As I pointed out, I thought this guy was at it, trying to frighten me
off because of his stack. I paid the price, but it's easy to fall into
the trap. When I say wankers, let me give a great example. A few years
ago, when I played in card rooms, we're playing £50 round of each -
hold 'em and Omaha pot limit - and I raise pre-flop with pocket kings.
Blinds are £1-£2 and I make it £10 to play. Two callers. The flop
comes 10-8-7, not a good flop for kings; I could be beat already, but
if somebody's drawing I'm gonna make him pay. I go all-in for £40.
This guy John is next to play, he's always whining about the bad beats
he suffers, but he's very wealthy so he can afford it.

He looks at me and says "What ace king have you got?" and calls.
He has 7-4 off-suit, and he makes two pair on me.

Is this guy a total wanker or is he not? He's called a big pre-flop
raise with total garbage, flopped the smallest pair possible, and he
thinks he's in front. Never mind that he has a guy behind him who may
yet raise the pot - the guy folded - is this bloke a total wanker or
what? Like I said, how can you win with people like that playing?
