also make sure that u dont have a ton of small wins and then take a
devastating loss b/c u are unwilling to leave a loser for that session.
dont let ureself get trapped for a 36 hour session where u just cant
win a hand and are playing poorly because of stubborness about breaking
ure "streak". i believe malmuth talks about this in one of his poker
essays books.

I am having one of the most remarkable years to say the least as I
struggled but still managed yet another win today at Borgata which
brings my YTD live record at New Jersey casinos to 15 winning sessions
in 16 thus far. Overall in CT, Las Vegas and New Jersey I've won 22 of
the 27 times I've played live. This includes limit cash games and
cashing in two of three NL SNG's at the Mirage.
I am playing focused, disciplined poker, and although I wasn't at my
best mentally today, I remained patient, and waited for the
opportunities that came to me and made the most of them.
The only thing that bothers me is that I'm getting too rapped up in
winning. By this I mean that as I near the end of a session with a small
lead I find myself getting too selective and cautious so as not to "blow
the lead". This is not a good habit, as poker is one continuous session,
and whether a good opportunity comes 5 minutes into a session or 8 hours
into one I need to ignore the stack size and play the hand as I should
regardless of the consequences.
The session win percentage is truly too good to be true, but the
important records are not the number of winning sessions, but the
profit/loss YTD and the hourly rate. If I can keep these going then this
will be the real measure of my success for the year.
