I didn't know this. I thought being an atheists meant you didn't

atheist. The word, by definition, means anti-theist - against religion
(just as asexual means not sexual, atheist means not theist).
What are you trying to get at by pointing this out?
He's trying to prove he doesn't know what he is talking about. The A in
atheist doesn't mean 'against', it means 'not'.
I believe I said that (read it again, it is right there four lines up). I
pointed out the meaning of athiest to point out how Ron's assertion that
some atheists believe in god (god not God lol) is ludicrous. By
definition, atheists do not believe in any god.

Mike, you can't expect to one answer to this question. Different
'atheists' believe vastly different things. Some have no problem
believing in god, but don't believe in any particular God (this is
different than agnostics who are open to the possibility of, say,
describeChristian God). Some believe in the vast nothingness that you
knowafter life, and that the idea of any god is wrong. Some don't
somewhat to believe. As for arguing against religious viewpoints,
believejust have an academic interest in philosophical things, some
wouldthe world would be a better place overall without religion. You
thing I'veneed to be much more particular in your question if you want a
particular answer.
