That is a rediculous statement to make.  In what way can you quantify the
individual actions of a huge body throughout 2000 years of history? And then
make a decision on the bad outweighing the good? For example, during the dark

litteracy, writting and pretty much anything to do with preventing western
civilization from crashing back to the Stoneage.  I consider that to be more
meaningful to the human race, then the negatvies caused by a few knob
polishings
carried out in the altar boy's dressing room.

Just a statement. Althought the church has done a lot of good, the chruch
is precisely what *kept* us in the dark ages, and held off on
enlightenment for 1000 years.
