In retrospect, I think I just should have pushed pre-flop. I was potcommitted
once I get $600. Decision making gets a lot easier, but I'd hate to bust out
sitting on the bubble.
Change your thinking here. You should have almost as many 4th place
finishes as you do 1st place finishes. With AK and 10BB you should be
ecstatic to get all your chips in the middle pre-flop. If you lose, you
lose. Playing it the way you did not only was about the worst possible
play, but virtually guarantees you bust out on the bubble.
Seriously. There are so many people that are just terrified of bubbling
that they'll fold down to 2BB in chips if they think there's a chance
someone will bust before them. The result? A bunch of 3rd place finishes
and a losing overall record.
