My new Dell Inspiron laptop seems to have a feature that is driving me
crazy
playing online.
The mouse touchpad has a propensity for making selections on its own.
Whenever
the pointer hovers over a particular box, the mouse frequently "chooses"
that
box without my touching the left click. Just hovering my finger over the
touch
pad seems to often be sufficient for selecting whatever is under the
pointer.
I have made several costly misclicks in tournaments now due to this weird
feature. I suppose I could attach an external mouse to the USB port but
that is
not always practical. I searched through all the mouse options on the
control
panel, but could not find a toggle switch to turn this off.
Can anyone help me with this..?

I never play poker with a touchpad, they are WAY too sensitive, especially
when you have large hands like I do. Bite the bullet and spend $19 on a
logitech usb optical mouse and DISABLE the touchpad while playing poker. I
don't know why you believe a mouse wouldn't always be practical, you can buy
smaller usb optical mice that will work just as well. How much have you
lost by mistakenly hitting the "wrong button" due to the touchpad, I'd
hazard a guess it's more than an external mouse would cost.
