Usenet has been around since 1981. It was taught to me in a high school
computer programming class.

And high school computers.

I have vitrually no knowledge of the history of Internet Service Providers.

A quick search of google shows over 40,000 usenet posts on their archives
from before 1990.

I posted primarily in the San Francisco 49er group from '94 to about '99.

proud of from school computers. I discovered the 49er group in '94, and
I've been a Usenet junkie ever sense. I wasn't a charter member of the 49er
group (I don't post there anymore...though I'm still a die hard 49er fan),
but I was close. It was the members of the 49er group that taught me why
top posting was wrong.

Which is the essense of usenet.

You are mistaken on both accounts. Top posting isn't the most acceptable
posting method. It is an unacceptable posting method.
