Sorry to tell you this but I dont think there is a magic formula. I have
played hundreds of online mtts and do pretty well but the overriding
factor is luck. Plain and simple you have to get cards when someone else
has weaker holdings and hope your cards hold up. If your already a solid
player than you need to have luck on your side. There are hundreds of
pros out there playing the same tourneys ever month and you see different
guys at the final tables all the time, they just got luckier than the
others. (except Ivey but he is some sort of poker freak). Look at the
rest of those guys on tour, they are all good enough to win any day but
what are you going to do when your all in w the best hand time and time
again and lose. I would say that amatuers (me included) tend to make that
one bad play or call sometimes that cripple you stack. If you can avoid
doing that then its in the hands of luck.
