Have you played this guy's game?

Have you been victimized by this witty, cretin idiot anywhere on
Usenet? ( "John Griffin" <thathillbilly@xxxxxxxxxxx> ) from the Seattle,
Washington area?

"John Griffin" <thathillbilly@xxxxxxxxxxx> , a brilliant TROLL and
character assassin, uses a phoney ID and web addy to avoid detection on
Usenet. He appears to have become a criminal fugitive from justice, but
that
concept yet remains to be proven. Should we hunt him down and turn him in,
or just drown him?

...Please bear with us and read onward...

ya know what jack? right is right...and this ain't right. such a message
needs to be far shorter...concise and to the point. i strongly suggest that
you NOT cross-post this or you run a high risk of pissing off a lot of
people. rgl doesn't deserve to be "torched" as you say. it deserves to be
saved.

i would suggest composing a single paragraph that summarizes the common
complaints of usenet abuse that griffin is guilty of. include the links of
his posting history as supplied in the google archives. ask people who are
fed up with this abusive wingnut to copy and paste the body of your message
as a form of petition and send it in an email addressed to

abuse@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

subject: complaint. you can check out his news provider at their website
where you can find their policy statements and faq.

btw...skip most of the groups that are under the "alt." hierarchy. they are
pretty much free-for-all junk newsgroups that nobody really gives a ***
about. that's why he's in so many of them. concentrate on the ones where
he's most active.

post your message <<individually>> to just a few or several of the
legitimate groups where he has been most active. his provider claims to act
on every complaint within 24 hours. usually by cancelling the offending
account without further notice. i would think even a dozen or so such emails
could do the trick. however, we can be sure that the prick would be back
with a new account somewhere within a few days.

you're free to do whatever you want but try to be prudent about it instead
of going off half-cocked.
