Re: How to Analyse for Lumpiness? (Correction)

Sounds pretty high falutin' but I'm afraid I can't make head nor tail of it.

As you can tell, neither can I.

There must be some sort of analysis to uncover evidence of clustering. I seem to remember the guys who audited the UK Lotto did some sort of cluster analysis so I'll try to track them down.

I'm posting my problem on math newsgroups. So far I've had one reply - a suggestion that I compare my closest triple from each Lotto draw with the average closest triple from the 14M 6/49 combos - of course, this only works for triples.

It's disappointing that the subscribers to this lottery newsgroup do not encompass the requisite mathematical knowledge for complete statistical analyses of lotteries. However if someone makes a claim that not all combinations are equally likely they are instantly leapt on by bazillions of pseudo-mathematicians telling them that they are wrong because they read it in a book/were told it in kindergarten etc.

Never mind. Maybe I'll take up taxidermy or something.

I'll remember that next time I tell someone to get stuffed. "And by the way, I know a taxidermist who can do you."

Yes...and we all have a motherfucker for a father. Funny world eh?

Except Jesus, allegedly. Even 2000 years ago people were thinking up excuses to avoid paternity suits.
