The math is the only way to quantify how much luck you need to win. Math
provides a relative metric. One number by itself is meaningless. What
this thread makes clear is the difficulties that await those who are unable
or unwilling to understand the context of the figures provided by the
mathematics.
What you misunderstand is that no individual with an understanding of how
the tool of mathematics is to be used "depends on the math" when gambling.
In the same way, neither does the insured depend on the actuarial tables
when they purchase insurance.
The critical idea is the relative assessment of risk and reward. The
mathematics helps the numerate quantify the expert answer to all questions
regarding risk and reward. The expert answer is "it depends". Mathematics
helps quantify the relative factors that "it" depends on.

I don't know shit about math, other than the odds and some of the
probability's of some things happening in craps. But since this thread
has turned into an Idiot fest. I will venture this. If you are playing
the same amount on the pass line. Say $5 with double odds $10. And win
the expected 1 out of 3. There is no way to break even. The flat is
going to loes $5 peroid. I love outside #'s. Pass line- place, what
ever. But I am not depending on the math. Or HA. I am looking for
luck. The only way to win! Rex
