Why do you find it so unbelievable it's only science. If you know the speed
of something (the ball) the speed of the wheel giving you a closing speed
and you know the forces on the ball in this case gravity you can then work
out roughly where the ball will drop. It's just like you know if you drive a
car at 30mph for 1 hour you will travel 30 miles it's just more complicated
because you need to find the ball speed and wheel speed. This is done by
knowing the distance around the roulette wheel and the time it takes the
ball to make one revolution the speed of the ball can then be calculated by
using the formula speed = distance/time. Once you know the speed of the ball
in relation to the wheel you can then calculate where the ball will land.
It's not rocket science just physics and math's.
