Well said Keith. I would recommend the Ball "Complete Book of Home
Preserving", a bit more pricey than the BBB but worth every penny. U of
GA website is a jewel and they answer questions too.
Miss Barb will be departing this afternoon for her beloved Southern
Canada home in Minneapolis area. I think our 90F days with 96% humidity
may be getting to her. Not to mention all the fine Louisina cuisine.
Today for Brunch we are having chicken and sausage gumbo, with okra this
time, over brown rice and I'm starting a loaf of wheat berry bread in a
few minutes. We will miss the Mother Superior when she goes home.

Feh, the heat and the humidity haven't been a problem a'tall, Jorge.
It's been very pleasant when we've been out. I'm going to miss The
Venerable Miz Anne, Sleepy Dawg Shirley, the fine cuisine, that's for
sure. Oh, and you, too, Father Inquisitor. <vbseg> I confess to
being anxious to return to My True Love's arms so I can get to posting
some of the pictures I've taken. The one of you wearing my pearls is
sure to fetch a handsome price at auction - from YOU, I'm guessing! LOL!
George, I'll never eat gumbo again, in my kitchen or anywhere else,
without remembering your and Anne's hospitality in May, 2007.
OB Preserving: Miz Anne dehydrated some leaf celery for me to take home
and Jorge stuffed a bag with some dried New Zealand spinach for me, too.
I sure hope the TSA folks don't think anything's funny if they should
happen to check my bag en route! LOL! I bought me a jar of ready-made
roux and a couple cans of Campbell's Sausage Gravy to take, too.
Well, George is probably reading this from his office next door so I
guess I'll officially get up, get dressed, and get a cuppa.
