I come from a family of picky eaters. There is literally not one thing I
could make that they would all eat. Well, they did eat the chili that I
made from scratch once. There was a big to do about it because my SIL was
afraid of it. She came from a home where onions were not allowed and she
had never eaten chili before. I don't think they'd all do it now though.
My mom won't have onions, tomatoes or peppers. Nephew's fiance won't eat
red meat. And my daughter will no longer eat chili. She used to eat it but
then just went off of it.

Tonight I had a miracle. Went to PCC Natural Market to get dinner. Called
my mom and told her what all they had that I thought she would like. She
selected a panini. Got a Cuban sandwich for my dad because he and my
husband ate them somewhere and liked them. They didn't complain about
anything. My daughter did complain about the vegan cheesecake she had
selected. I was worried about it at first thinking they would have used
tofu for the cheese. But no. It was soaked cashews, which make a very good
cheese, IMO. The crust was of soaked pecans and walnuts. She read all of
the ingredients and yet when we got it to my parents house she freaked
because there were nuts in it. She did like the top part but not the nut
crust. I felt that it tasted like blueberries even though it was strawberry
cheesecake. The berries were mixed into the nut cheese. Anyway... I think
that was the first meal I have managed to bring to them that didn't have a
lot of leftovers or draw complaints from my parents. Daughter had turkey
meatloaf. I had a falafil sandwich and there was a bag of Boulder potato
chips and another of raw carrot chips.
