The second wave of variant CJD (vCJD) caused by eating beef
will only be obvious in retrospect. We could be in the middle
of the exponential growth phase of the spread of transmissable
spongiform encephalopathies right now, and not know it because
of the long time-delay between infection and expression of
symptoms.

Everybody's got to die sometime...
