No, not weird at all. IMO, best way to go. Some shock for the family,

better than having someone linger in pain for weeks.
my granny took to vacillating between accusing my father of being in
league
with the pope in a plot to kill her and mistaking him for his brother mike
and complaining that john (my father) never came to visit. odd, since my
dad was the only one of the family that *did* visit (as well as footing
all
the bills).
