It all goes back to René Descartes: He was the French philosopher who made his most famous philosophical statement ("Cogito ergo sum") in Latin. The statement translates as, "I think, therefore I am." Why did Descartes express his statement in Latin? Because Descartes was French, of course. And he was a THINKER. He was a FRENCH THINKER.
