No such company as Bell.

their asses. It was a wise decision. Couldn't be happier with just our
mobile service and we save about $100 a month doing it this way.

What do you mean by "mobile service"? You get internet via cellphone
networks? What kind of bandwidth? I don't know what you were paying for
basic land line phone service, but I've yet to find a single cellphone
service that is cheaper for basic POTS service. I find it hard to believe
internet access via cell service is cheaper by any metric you can think of.
Feel free to change my mind.

internet. I'll not be going back to DSL any time soon if I can help it.

I have POTS and DSL through Qwest and am quite happy with service. After
having cable for 10 yrs, I'm not in the least bit disappointed. Yes, AT&T
was upping dwnld to the unheard of >5Mb/s range, but I seldom accessed any
servers that could match it. Granted, our bill is a bit high, but CO has
HUGE POTS service fees. That and my $8 mo modem rental (need to purchase my
own) are the only two real price killers. I can't imagine what services you
are/were getting that you could SAVE $100 mo.

I will also say that DSL technology is vastly improved. It used to be DSL
was not available more than 3 miles from the CO (central office... the phone
switching station) and the farther one was from CO, the lower the bandwidth.
I'm at least 9 miles from CO and get full bandwidth. This is amazing, as I
thought I was going to have to pay Hughes (satellite) $80 mo for relatively
crappy service. Nope. DSL rocks! ...unless your particular company just
happens to suck.
