Several friends here were concerned about their cell phones because they
had no electricity to recharge the batteries. I have a car charger. A
lot of people here bought car chargers after Dolly.

Yes, those are nice to have, in case I forget to plug in the phone for a
couple of nights.

BUT...what happens if the local cell tower is hit? Maybe not destroyed,
just re-aimed. It happens. Ask Nextel.

I think it's "Nextel-Speak" for "we don't want to have to pay money to
improve service, so we just made it up."
It was only 12 or-so hours with no service.
