I'm glad she's going home. One can't sleep in the hospital unless
dosed up with lots of morphine.

Oh pahleese.. we have much better drugs than Morphine..heheheheheheh
But yeah, sleep is often a problem in hospitals. Even when
unconscious for days and weeks on end, they're not getting that
restorative REM sleep, y'know?

Goomba, who makes people unconscious and comatose for fun and pay...

When I arrived in the ER two shots of morphine did *nothing* for my
pain. I could hear the doctor outside the room, I don't care if
she's had two shots already give her this, too. I don't know what
the "this" was but it did the trick. I think they kept me well dosed
with dilaudid (sp?) most of the time.

Nancy's crack about the cleaning nurse is sort of an inside joke. There
was one particular nursing assistant who would wake me up at
4AM to tell me she was emptying the waste baskets, or bringing me
more ice chips. And she was a talker! I'm sorry, but unless it
requires my interaction (checking my vital signs) why are you waking
me up?!
Jill

I had dilaudid when I was in, too. Didn't do much for helping me with the
pain, but every time I hit the button to give myself a dose, I got a fever.
It was weird. They took me off the dilauded drip and started giving me some
white horse pills and......dang......I couldn't put a thought together.

Sounds like your hospital experience was similar to mine. I had a nurse who
would come in, wake me up, sit on the end of the bed and watch my TV.
You're laughing at the TV when I'm trying to sleep?????
