I'll take memory leak over having a browser like IE that's susceptibleI keep hearing that, and yet I have no problems with it.

There's the difference. I don't use Cox's McAfee suite because I've used McAffee products before and find them far inferior to even Norton. I don't use Norton either because it's a system pig.

As I said, I run Adblock Plus and Flashblock as add-ons in Firefox. The only thing that annoys me is that some sites now ENFORCE the use of IE, but there's an add-on for that too called IE-Tab. It fakes out the server into thinking it's IE but it's not.
My first install of IE7 crashed the machine I installed it on very hard. My second install on a different machine resulted in much the same effect.
Probably because I had the very early version of it. But I've noted it loads ever so slowly and like I said, with all the improvements its still susceptible to any fifth rate script kiddy.
I don't use Ad-Aware or Spybot, don't have to do so. Use a browser that isn't susceptible and you'll not have to shell out for the other applications.
I have Ad-Aware and Spybot on my laptop and for years and years ran them every week. All it did was remove cookies. I didn't bother to put them on the desk top. I just purge the few cookies that sneak past Firefox every once and a while.
I think the AdBlock Plus and Flashblock do a great job. I have the opposite opinions as to McAfee. I've used Norton and hated its constant attemps to hijack my machine. McAfee only does what I let it do and it sits there quietly doing its thing without disturbing me. YMMV
