My veggie garden is finally all planted, and just in time as heavyI like the look of your property, Sheldon...and love those Spruce... It
thunderstorms are forcast for tomorrow.
doesn't look as if you live in the city...How big a Block of land do you
have there, Sheldon...Sure looks nice..Plenty of room for gardens, but
plenty of lawn to mow as well....
on 16 acres, I mow ten acres once each week. Mowing is good exercise
and very relaxing.
Heading out to mow my back field:

Keeping this path clear is work too:

Even with the 7' mower that field still takes nearly two hours:

I have hundreds of babies to nurture:

I own another property down the road, 91.5 acres, mostly in hay... one
of the local dairy farmers sees to the haying and pays my taxes. Buy
land, have some patience, one day soon you'll be very wealthy.
Spotted the realtors sign and bought it that day, that's my car up
there:

91 acres is a lot of land, a square a little over 1/3 mile per side,
this field, and the next:

This property is the highest point for miles, 360 degree panoramic

I've owned this piece four years, it's already worth four times what I
paid... I bet Van knows what large land around Altamont (northwest
Albany Cty) goes for.

tiny fraction of that privacy when I move. (I also liked the old stone
wall.)
Move to where? When so many think of NY they think NYC... well NY is
mostly rural... there are great real estate bargains in NY, especially
these days... not all NYers live in NYC. Actually the poorest NYers
live in NYC. I don't understand why anyone would want to spend
thosands, even million to live in a tiny high rise apartment when for
mere peanuts they can live on twenty, even thirty acres of pristine
land, in a nice house, not 40 minutes from Albany, where there's some
of the greatest shopping on the planet.
First, I don't know where "those spruce" came from. I must have that
damned spell checker on. I keep disabling it, but...
I live close to Boston, but I am going to move farther out. I REALLY
want to move very far out, even into another state, but I am meeting
much resistance from my daughter. (She has Asperger's Syndrome, so it
is not clear to me how much of a factor she will continue to be.)
Therefore, I am looking fairly close to here and hope to end up with a
more-rural setting and PRIVACY. An antique house would be terrific!
I had to run out to feed Hillery & Obama:

My new spruce, and veggie garden:

The girls (does) are out there now, but it's geeting too dark for
pics.
I don't mind feeding them, amazingly they much prefer the cheapest
white bread.
My only complaint is the price of diesel is now well over
$5/gallon, but I ain't gonna stop mowing.
