yes. and i'm not sure why, because i know a very sharp guy
who works for dell. i think they were having problems some
years ago and the idea stuck that they make bum machines.

It's weird, maybe just their advertising blitz makes me
resist.

I bought my present machine from a local (non-chain) computer store. The price was competitive with Dell etc. and the face-to-face discussions were helpful. They also carried out a 24 hour burn-in to check the machine. I have upgraded the computer myself with components I bought at the same store.
