Food prices are going to get worse as we start to shift more food
production towards energy production. Even worse, emerging economies
will start buying more upscale food products instead of more basic
things like rice, wheat and grains. For an example of food price
craziness check out the $500 a bottle L' Chepeau soy sauce aka El
Cheapo soy sauce.

My sister shops just for herself and is hardly a big eater. We were

She's damn sure eating SOMETHING!! That's $800 month! Two of us
spend
$200
month and I'm starting to gain weight.
She sure is eating something. I spend $100-120 per week for two of us,
and we
eat well. She is spending almost twice a much as we are for two, so
close to
four times as much as we are per person. She can't be starving.
No she isn't starving. She is a vegetarian, likes to cook and does not
buy
prepared meals. She is like me, cooks everything fresh. We also have
the
highest water prices anywhere in the world, so perhaps that plays into
it.

I'd love to see copies of her grocery bills as I can't even imagine how
one could rack up such a bill unless they are shopping at the most
expensive market in the country and buying only the most overpriced over
hyped organic hand massaged tofu.
Hand massaged is the only way to go. Madefromsoybeans that were
hydroponically grown in French mineral water and had their roots perfectly
coifed every day by Japanese virgins. I mean that is good tofu! OK, sure,
there is room to economize. I am embarrassed to say what I spend. But the
point is not what you spend, again the cost is going through the roof and
it's getting kind of scary.
