It's worse than that. The claimant stated that they could feed a family of 4 for 200 dollars a month. So that works out to 1.66 for 4 people in a day. that is 42 cents per person per day. In a 360 day year.
I paid 3.00 for a dozen eggs. That is .25 cents each. Two of those and I am over budget.
It cannot be done unless you grow your own produce. Period.
Actually the claim was 4 or 5 people for LESS than 200 a month. 40 bucks a person per month? I could not do that when I was a skinny college kid making my own refried beans and turkey burgers in 1980. With no bun no less.
I got my original math wrong but no way in hell can you keep anyone alive in this country for $1.33 a day unless you shop at food banks and get free cheese. Even food stamps is 100 bucks a week for a family of 4. So those alleged budgetary geniuses should get on food stamps and double their standard of living.
Paul
I was in line behind a woman that paid 36 bucks for *two* full cart loads of groceries. Yeah, it's possible to feed a family of four on 200 bucks a month. I don't. I feed two people on between 2 and 300 bucks a month. nb said he feeds two people on 200 a month.
I'm waiting for the claim that somebody can do it for 200 dollars a year.
Paul
I wouldn't be at all surprised if there isn't somebody doing it now. There's an article on msn.com this morning about super shoppers.
