dates are assumed mutual?

Perhaps you're asking the wrong person, I'm casual, whoever had
the money paid. Not an issue. But the article made it sound like
an early dating situation. I can't imagine some guy asking me out
to dinner and presenting me with the check. Has nothing to do with
women's lib. That's just manners.
