Spammers don't deserve to live.
True. That's one of the reasons why I can't stand reading news groups
via the google interface (too much garbage), although I post from
there occasionally. If you're interested in usenet (that's were you
are now - in cyberspace), which is beyond google groups, find a real
news reader you can live with that has filtering capabilities ASAP.
I've been giving mine a real workout in the past couple of days.
Of course a good clean feed helps, too. Between the two (local and server
filtering), I rarely see spam in here (except when it's quoted). I'm
lucky that news.individual.net is also hip to filtering; I hope that
doesn't change.
I'm wondering what's up with Giganews lately? I usually don't see
this much spam either. Fortunately, they're easy to filter.
Bummer if a well-filtered feed is going soft. :-/
While I have this reply open, I'm downloading the last 1,000 rfc posts
from Earthlink, just for a test.
...
No spam there other than Google Groups spam, which I filter but news feeds
don't filter. (I was just wondering what the last couple days' mix was,
and it looks like all GG spam -- but, of course, not all of them are from
gmail.)
