Probably can't sell it, but with some effort they could probably lease
it at an attractive rate to offset some of the mortgage cost.
We discussed that too when we had a house we had a hard time selling.
The costs of repainting and cleaning up after renters trashed the
place outweighed any benefits.
If you can't make the mortgage payments and can't sell, dealing with
renters is generally better than foreclosure. There are professional
rental management companies that can be well worth their fees. Of course
the people noted could also sell their yupmobiles and get more
economical vehicles.
