This is such a good question, but I'm having the worst time thinking of ANYTHING invented in the last 20 years. I immediately thought of food processors, but they're pre-1988. I also thought of fresh herbs available year-round in the supermarket, but they've been around for a while too. I agree with you about the Big Brother cards.
