I got nothing kitchen-related, but a whole bunch of books <drool>.
Similar here. We don't exchange gifts for Xmas, and we do avoid malls, so
"Xmas" presents usually involve things bought in October that will help us
avoid all retail outlets for the following 3 months. The closest thing I got
that's cooking or kitchen related is Claudia Rodin's _Arabesque: A Taste of
Morocco, Turkey, & Lebanon_.
What's 'Ugly Betty' ?
I also got _Water for Elephants_, Sara Gruen
_Life Studies_, Susan Vreeland
a collection of Alice Munro short stories
and the first season of Ugly Betty on DVD.
The most interesting I got is Book XXVI. of Ioannes Sleidanus'
The most interesting is turning out to be _New Sudden Fiction_ edited by
Shapard & Thomas, but that has to go back to the library.
De Statu Religionis et Rei Publicae from MDLIX.
Plus, of course the last Pterry.
Cheers,
