Oh pshaw, on Mon 10 Dec 2007 05:58:17p, Steve Kramer meant to say...

When I was just a little kid, there was an Uncle in the family that was
a bit odd. As the years went by, he became even more difficult. By the
time I was an older teenager, he was almost impossible to be around. Of
course, Uncle was a lot older too.

Often in shark schools, one shark becomes old and infirmed. The other
sharks usually kill and eat it. I'm surprised that the family didn't
kill and eat my uncle.

Oh wait... perhaps it's because of 'family.' Instead, they'd just shake
their heads and ignore him. Family. They are people, not sharks.

Sheldon's been around here longer than most of us. Like him or not, he
deserves some family loyalty.

I strongly disagree, Steve. I owe him nothing, and this is *not* a family,
it is a newsgroup. I'm not suggesting that Sheldon be killed and eaten,
regardless how distateful that prospect might be. Sheldon permanently
resides in my killfile. I don't read his posts, but there are random
occasions when his quoted text is in posts that I may read. When he
actually becomes the topic/subject of a post, I feel as entitled as anyone
to comment. There is absolutely nothing that anyone could say to redeem
him in my own opinion.

I think we are all old enough and have
enough self control that if you don't care for his posts, you can just
ignore him. For others of us who don't mind listening, we'd like to go
on reading his posts for the bits of information we get from them. You
don't have to emulate his vocabulary. You don't have to invite him to
tea. We just make a choice to read or not. It's simple, really.

Yes, it is simple. I don't read him, unless by accident through quote.
