Our local TV station bought a bunch of pot pies (Banquet and Marie
Calendar are the ones I remember). Here's the story. Banquet didn't
come to temp, Marie Calendar did http://tinyurl.com/2qfrbx

That's a silly article. It proves what Wayne said: A lot of people are
too dumb to understand that without exception, *all* microwave
instructions are only guidelines. Sometimes you get lucky and things
cook right, as per the guidelines. Other times, you have to use your
brain (if any).
Using your brain won't be helpful unless instructions are given to check
the temp of the product with an instant read thermometer and that the
temp must be X for safe eating.

X=intuition.

Oh never mind. We must account for the 54% who haven't figured out that a
cup of coffee might be hot.
No, you argument is faulty. You can't expect every person to know that a
pot pie is undercooked when they have followed the directions on the
package. Specific directions must be given as to the temp. Besides, I
consider my cup of coffee exceptionally hot and almost undrinkable whereas
my husband likes his molten and glowing red. Using hot as a determining
factor of doneness won't work.
