Wow, 1100. Being from Hawaii, my brain loves the fact that Hawaiians
got here about the same time- about 1000 AD and the culture *Hawaii
vs. Italy is/was so vastly different. Unbelievable.
Oh I have a fantasy of living in Italy too:):):). DH will never leave
Hawaii, so I can have a fantasy like that, and some days while picking
coffee for hours, I let my brain dream of what it would be like.
Thanks for the fun.

Off on another tangent. When you look at what was taking place in various
parts of the world at about the same time 2000 years ago, you just have to
wonder. Peru, Egypt, Stonehenge, and others were building structures that
we can't duplicate today. And we think we are so smart. How many years
went buy before someone noticed that every 365 sunrises, it is in a certain
alignment?
There are may places around the world that have some alignment with the
vernal equinox that is just perfect. Be it light that shines into a cave
only on that day or between the pillars of some structure, the ancients
certainly were observant of the solar system. Agriculture was as important
then as now so they had to rely on their own history of seasons to plant
their crops.
