I had hoped to do a swim to Fisherman's Wharf, from Alcatraz next
Spring. I can handle the distance, and I can handle the waves. I'm
not too afraid of the sharks, after figuring there are actually more
sharks on land, than ever dwelled in the sea. . .But alas, there is
absolutely NO WAY I can handle the temperature of the water!

Myrl, that is a lot of work, I am really proud of you. Keep practicing,
I know you can do it. The sharks do not bother me, but I am a WWW, warm
water wimp. I shiver if the water is below 85 (F). I will keep my
fingers crossed that you have warm water.

But a friend just sent a 40 year old picture of us, on a ship in the
north atlantic, in winter, surrounded by ice. My wife no longer ask
why I will not get in to a pool that's not at least in the mid 80s.
