Plus the doctor has to either accept your insurance plan or be willing

THAT happening?
The only 4 doctors in my plan refused to treat me because of my rare
condition, so I have insurance and no doctor. They say I'm a high-risk
patient. So, even if you're entitled to medical care, that doesn't mean
you're going to get it.
I've been in this business too long to accept that explanation. Doctors treat high risk patients all the time, very high risk... outrageously high risk! They get treated. There is a doctor who will treat you, too.
If the high risk factor was a true deterrent, no cancer patient would ever be seen by a physician. There would be no obstetricians, no surgeons (especially no plastic and vascular surgeons), no pediatricians. But there are, because high risk is not all there is to it.
Second, I've been in this business too long to accept the defense that one is entitled to medical care. Some have insurance, some pay out of pocket, some break open the piggy bank, some get public assistance, but none are entitled to medical care. Only in a socialist society is any one service an entitlement of all. Sorry if it's not what you want to hear (it's not what I want to hear either), but as things are now, there is no entitlement. You must qualify somehow.
