I just have a cat, if I see her food or water dish are empty,
I fill them. It's not in relation to when I eat at all.

Having said that, I admit she always checks out what I'm
having, maybe she'd like a taste. I never let my pets beg
for people food, I don't know why I indulge this one. She
doesn't stare you down, just comes over, whatcha eatin?
Maybe I'll give her a morsel, maybe I won't, she doesn't take
offense either way. She's a funny little cat.

My Aby, Gaoth Rua, loves almost all people food.
I usually give her a taste but not enough to spoil
her diet. She loves all fruit but especially strawberries,
and she will drive me nuts if I'm doing anything with
strawberries. I usually let her eat as much as she
wants of the soft spots (not rotten) that I cut off
the berries as I clean them since it's only once in a
great while and not daily or even weekly.

She also loves sweets and bread and crackers, not to
mention meats, especially chicken. She loves sauerkraut.

Now, my Russian, Lucy, is not at all interested in
people-food although there have been a couple of times
when she's eaten it, actually just licked an almost
clean plate after I was done eating, but I think she
got the idea from watching Gaoth do it. Mostly she's
totally indifferent to it. But she loves her cat food
and is a total pig. She'd probably weigh 20 pounds if
I free-fed them. She really loves to eat and drives me
bananas when it dinner time until I feed her.
