trying to correct someone else's "mistake" or "just because your
opinion differ"?

This is what I am teaching my young children not to do. There is no
need to insult or saying hurting words, to get your point across.

As a child, I asked my mother something similar and she replied:
Beware of those who cut off others' heads to make themselves look
taller.

I can only think that Sheldon is very, very short.
