Melamine In Wheat Gluten Was Deliberate

There's an article that will appear in tomorrow's (4/30) printed NY Times about how adding melamine to feed is a common practice in China, and that the company that shipped some of the contaminated wheat gluten had advertised on the internet to purchase melamine scrap for this purpose. It's exactly the scheme to raise protein content in tests that the FDA speculated about.

There's a whole different set of ethical values over there in China, something that's almost unimaginable in the USA.
