Speaking of pricey laptops, a friend of mine recently got a new Apple
laptop, and it is *very* nice, but big $$$ compared to the Windows
machines.
But are you comparing comparable units? For instance, will the Windows
laptop also run the Mac OS (Unix) like the Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook
(starting at $1099) will also (natively & even simultaneously) run
Windows? Are they similarly equipped with wireless, Bluetooth, Front
Row TV hook-up & remote, onboard camera, etc? Are they equally secure
and virus free? Just curious.
Right. A core 2 duo Apple laptop runs about the same price as a Dell
version for the same screen size, plus the Apple is made of metal
casing, not cheap plastic and its backed by Apple's top-rated customer
service plan for a year by default. Apple computers also last a lot
longer than competing computers. My parents' Mac is 8 years old and
still going strong, no problem at all and they can do everything the
modern Vista users can do and there's no need to run Symantec or other
anti-virus software, plus a typical Mac comes loaded with all the
software that most people need, right out of the box.
