First off if you buy a Dell all software and hardware will work fine with
Vista or they won't release it together. I purchased a Dell with Windows
Media Center and you want to know about a pain. Well I didn't have any of
the problems others had with many computers that was supposed to be run with
Media Center. To be honest all the parts in a Dell can be purchased anywhere
with no priority hardware nor software. It is up to you but I will buy
another when I'm ready to upgrade. I had 2 gateways prior to this Dell and
would also consider them again. I wouldn't buy anything else especially a
private builder stuff.
Agreed. Mine is media center too. Imagine my suprise when I finally
found out it is XP Pro in disguise and free at that! Deleting
unwanted software is easy to do as is deleting shortcuts to MS
software components that are undeletable. I don't have a problem with
it. It's all part of personalizing my computer. If I don't have to
search around (and pay) for decent CD/DVD burning software, all the
better.
