Your breakfast sounds dee-vine, Michael. I love my breakfast at around
10am... heh heh heh. I just wish I could eat as soon as I wake up, but I
can't. I have to be awake for an hour or two before I can face anything
more than a cup of tea or coffee :( Maybe it's because my folks used to
*insist* that I eat a cooked breakfast every morning at around 6.30am,
whether I wanted it or not - before getting ready for school. They used
to tell me "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so you
better eat it". ;)
I have to eat soon after waking, but I can't stomach bacon and eggs, or sausage.
Especially sausage. My breakfast menu is pretty simple. I like oatmeal or
Shredded Wheat. A bowl of one of those to and a Latte the way I start my day. My
wife is a low carb eater. She has bacon and eggs, or an omelette with cheese, or
cheese and cold cuts.
This morning I had some Shredded Wheat because it was too hot for porridge.
Around 10:30 I hopped on my bicycle and headed off 8 miles to the coffee store
for two pounds of espresso and 1 pound of French Roast beans. Then to the nursery
to get some Sevin spray to deal with my overnight infestation of Japanese
Beetles. Instead of heading straight home I headed over to the bicycle trail
along the canal. I was already half way there. Then along the canal into the
city. I stopped at the Y, had a shower, refilled my water bottle and then home,
about 25 miles altogether.
My Shredded Wheat fuelled me all the way. I was going to stop at Tim Hortons for
a coffee and donut but thought better of it and stuck to water. This cycling is
the way to exercise. I have been doing 20-25 miles a day and lost 10 pounds in
the last two weeks, and had fun doing it.
