We've got about a month left before renewel... those interested can
contact me at John C Robinson at gmail.com (all one word)

Could someone explain to me what this means, what impact
it has? Sorry, I don't know.

I just looked, and there's a website there with some recipes and other
things. I suppose the comment about renewal means that someone's got to pay
the fee to keep the site going.

I dunno, I've been reading and posting here for a while, and this is the
first mention I've seen of the site. Or, come to think of it, there might
have been a similar obscure message about it three years ago.

Either it's something that only a small group of people make use of, and
they want to keep it hush-hush, or it's just generally being ignored.

I don't know that any of that applies. In one of her 'up' times, Damsel
established the website on her own space with a former ISP. Had to move
it and there was some conversation about hosting and maintaining and
paying for the domain name. A couple Johns were involved, IIRC, and a
couple years ago, I collected about $20 or so from folks here and sent
it off to a John in one lump sum for the domain name. Carol's not in a
place where she can 'take care' of the site, I'm pretty sure.

Personally, I'd like to see the name retained by "us" ? whoever that is.
I really don't much care about the content. I visit the site maybe once
every 18 months or so.

FWIW.
