Well, the beer can roasters I was referrring to are made from cast iron.
They are an actual rack that holds both the can and the chicken.

You can put the chicken on it without the can. ;-)

They also sell a double one that holds 2 cans and 2 chickens.

I've also seen that cone shaped roaster that is supposed to hold a
chicken upright, but since breast meat has a tendency to get dry, I've
been leery of trying to roast a chicken upright. I normally roast them
breast side down.

Now that I have this electric grill that I use nearly daily, I've
re-developed an appreciation for chicken breast meat. For years I'd
rarely if ever eat it! But, this grill cooks it so that it's moist,
tender and not the least bit dry.
