Well, see, she was not in her "OMG! BEE BEE BEE!" mode about that. So
she thought through it. That's the 'non reactive Rain.' She was more
consistently like that most of her life, but then along came hormones
and she got more, erm, emotional and flustered than she had been
before.
Have you had her palpated yet? She may have something unusual that can be diagnosed thru palpation, and then perhaps a treatment may be indicated. (e.g. she may have an abnormal ovary) Even if the exam finds nothing unusual, you will still know more about her physical state and how it might be affecting her emotional response to things (or not).
It's more a general attitude (which has improved dramatically since about, oh, middle June) than anything you can track with her cycle (either rising, in season, or fallow). Belles was a crab pot the year her hormones came in (two for her; Rain was a late bloomer) but the big difference there is the amount of oomph each brings to the table.
If Rain seems to start tracking behavior with her cycles, or mellows out in the winter and winds up again next spring, I will take your suggestion to heart. Right now, it's just very consistent with who her mother is + her age and experience level.
Thanks for the idea.
