Fly Control?

Ok, so I bought the bags with the nasty smelling stuff in them that
you add water to, and my husband hates the smell so won't put up more
than one, which is WAY high where I can't "agitate" the bag, per
instructions for continued attraction of the flies. We also put up a
couple of those sticky pest cylinders (they have the same attractant
in the base, in granule form, but not nearly so smelly) that seem to
be working well, but not keeping up with the fly population. We
considered the mineral supplement w fly control that you add to the
horse feed, but are not sure we want to introduce a systemic product
into our horses. We have 2 horses who are in pasture about 30% of the
time and in their stalls on hay about 70% of the time, and of course
producing "throughput" vigorously. One horse is on thyroid
supplement, another reason we are hesitant to put her on the fly
control mineral supplement. Any suggestions? Thanks. Adrienne
.
