well no....the looped rein of the reiners or some such here (USA)
are a little
farther than the traditional while the Doma Vaquera comes closer esp
in the
Vaquero horses that are actually working cattle...there are youtubes
of that as well

also downhill and down headed is not really suitable as finished
horse product...
the heft of the reins are a bit like a cane pole balanced on your
finger...you
can feel a vibration but you make no adjustments in balance unless the
scale
gets tipped somehow....

these solid mouthpieces are actually picked up and help by the
horse...it's not like a
snaffle that just hangs there in the middle...these bits fill the
whole mouth and the "take"
of the bit by the horse is part of the whole deal....
