Please answer the question.  If the bridle adds something it is more than
just the mark of a finished horse, so what does it add?  If the horse is
fully finished in the hackamore before moving up to the bridle, what is the
point of moving up?  This is not an attack.  It is a question.

the move from hackmore to solid mouth piece bridle say shtat the
horse as achieved the muscle
structure, the cues, the stamina, the drive to then hold the full
mouthpiece steady as it's weight brings the
"break" at the poll that is found when his proper carriage is created
by all the things noted above...

now break is not the best word for it as it implies the tie downs
and pulley systems and "stuff"
of cheaper riding...but it is as close a word as I have

it is like me asking you why do you both to improve in dressagy ...when
kick and jerk will suffice ?

Are you equating the hackamore to kicking and jerking?  I thought it was a
rather refined device.

well in lots of ways yes....the horse starts in one size diameter
hackmore...bigger, softer (or stiffer given his temperment)
so when the "pulllllll thru the turn" on a truely green animal has to
occur...one is not doing this pulling on
his mouth...so he could trip or pull or fuss in his misunderstanding
with you w/o
damaging teeth or lips or tongues or some such...long slow work until
the gears are worked thru...

as you and he improve in your conversations, a different
diameter
is then moved to...ending (a year or so later) in a bosalito small
enough to fit under the
]bridle itself...but you start with something bigger around than my
thumb (and I have have
been accused of having man hands :>)
