A polite way of saying, inbreeding?
I got the pedigrees of our new filly, and upon entering them I see that she
has some common ancestors on both Mom and Pop's side. It starts with some
common ancestry between great grandparents on Dads side and great great
grandparents on the dam side and gets more common from there. Is this
pretty typical in the horse world, or should I worry? Anything particular I
should check her for?
Not close enough in to get too excited about. She's an example of
very minor linebreeding on her dam's side.
My mare is more linebred than she is, with Doc O'Lena and Gay Bar King
on both sire's side and dam's side, pretty close in. Lots of Three
Bars in her pedigree.
